Liverpool South Parkway

Liverpool South Parkway is a £18m passenger interchange serving Liverpool John Lennon Airport and comprises an integrated travel centre, bus stops, taxi rank, park and ride car park and dedicated bus shuttle service to the airport.

The project involved the refurbishment of Allerton station on the West Coast Mainline, the relocation of Garston station to serve local trains and the integration of services as follows:

  • Power
  • Lighting
  • Fire Alarms
  • CCTV
  • Public Address System (PA)
  • Emergency telephones
  • Clocks
  • Customer Information System (CIS)

The project also featured many environmental enhancements including Rainwater harvesting, Sustainable forest products, Cement replacement, recycled aluminium roofing, geothermal heating and Solar Photovoltaic walling.

Paul Osborne acted as M&E Co-ordinator for the project. He played a crucial role in co-ordinating the various utilities for the site and co-ordinating the various M&E contractors, both commercial and rail side, ensuring that the systems were fully integrated and available when required during the construction and commissioning programme.
